I don't often employ color anymore but when I do, I typically use:

• Dr. Ph Martin's Radiant Concentrated Watercolor
• Caran D'ache Water Soluble Colored Pencils

I bought both sets in 1988 and they are still serving me. You have to see it on paper to appreciate the powerfully vivid yellow.
